Our little Lambie

This is a blog dedicated to our little lamb, Simba. He is the light of our life! He is 15 years old and a BIG baby. He is a shepherd/husky/lab/collie mix. The only blond in the family, he is the apple of our eye and we live for him. Each day is a joy because of his enduring love for us and ours for him. Lately he has been suffering from problems in his spine. He has been diagnosed with inter vertebral spine disease and degenerative myelopathy. We are in the process of finding a miracle worker in Veterinary Medicine to help alleviate our lil lamb's pains. Our lamb is still in love with life and as many of you know, is a connoisseur of food. Any food that touches our lips, has to be sampled by him. We have to curtail this, of course. I make his food at home now, half-cooked, not completely raw. Simba is on lots of supplements and we have a major consultation coming up next week with a neuro specialist. We have lots of hope for Sims improving. Some days are so bad he can't even put his right hind leg down in the morning, but some days are so good he does his bunny hop to chase those darn squirrels. We know many of you are in similar situations and I will be using this blog to post helpful tips for moms and dads of DM babies. If you have any helpful advice, please do post. Thank you. Pray for our little lamb!
